At the end of 2014 we don’t have a firm handle on what’s going to be appearing at online casinos in the coming year. It’s usually a mistake to confidently predict that some particular online slot or other will be making it’s debut as a quick look back at our 2014 predictions will testify.
We were particularly looking forward to some new Marvel slots but unfortunately in vain and the same goes for any additions to Microgaming’s Rhyming Reels line of games.
What we did get though were lots of new content from the usual sources and one or two newer companies. Playtech, Net Entertainment and Microgaming continued to produce high quality slots and NetEnt in particular released a range of science fiction-themed games such as Aliens, Big Bang and Cosmic Fortune.
Our favourite new software developer has been Thunderkick Games who have taken slots design in a new and interesting direction with games such as Birds On A Wire and Arcader. Established companies may or may not follow this new path but we would recommend anyone to give Thunderkick releases a go.
So we’re looking forward to more from this Swedish outfit as well as new games from the usual suspects but with the popularity of online slots continuing to increase there’s bound to be some exciting stuff on the horizon.
