For those unaware of the 2011 movie, Bridesmaids is a comedy which tells the story of Annie and her fellow bridesmaids as they prepare for the wedding of their friend Lillian. Microgaming have now acquired the license for an online slot based on the movie and we can now bring you the full review in all it’s pink and flowery glory.
Bridesmaids is a five reel slot with four rows and forty fixed paylines; various shades of pink are the most striking thing about this game and it has a type of simple retro look which is pleasing to the eye.
The high value symbols are the main characters from the film and they are Lillian, Annie, Helen, Megan, Rita and Becca.Playing card symbols represent the lower values.
The wild symbol is the Bridesmaids logo and. like the main symbols, it can appear stacked in both the base game and bonus rounds. The flowery cup cake is the scatter symbols which kicks off all the extra features.
Bonus Features
Wheel Bonus
This is the starting point for all the bonus features and it’s triggered by landing three or more of the cup cake scatter symbols anywhere in view. You will be shown a screen displaying four cup cakes and a Wheel Of Fortune so pick one of the cakes for a multiplier award then spin the wheel.
There are six possible bonuses to win here:
- Friendship Free Spins – ten free spins with various characters stacked on particular reels. Lillian acts as an extra wild for Annie and Helen. Wins can be right to left as well as left to right (see video above).

Verdict
Bridesmaids looks good and it’s clearly a slot for those who appreciate bonus features; we found them easy to trigger and potentially lucrative. If we have a criticism it’s that very little of the film’s humour comes across as it does in games such as South Park and Spamalot but it’s well worth playing.
