Microgaming describes as ‘captivating and comical’ this horror-themed online slot; it’s called Peek-a-Boo and it’s certainly colourful. In fact the theme is a bit tough to describe as it involves ghosts, a ghost hunter and lots of sweets to provide you with winning opportunities; it also includes a creative bonus feature and you can read all about it below.
Peek-A-Boo is a five reel, forty slot with forty fixed paylines; the design is very cartoonish and the large reels are set against a dark blue backdrop .
All the symbols are related to the theme and include four different coloured ghosts – pink, yellow, green and blue – along with various sweets such as Liquorice Allsorts and Wine Gums.
The Peek-a-Boo logo is wild, can appear stacked on all reels and substitutes for all other symbols; the ghost hunter appearing only on reel three and is crucial to activating the main feature.
Bonus Features
Ghost Meter
Each time the ghost hunter appears on reel three he will zap a maximum of one ghost from each of the reels; these will be collected in the ghost meter on the right hand side and once it’s full the spins will be triggered. The number of spins is determined by the number of ghosts collected, a maximum of thirteen.
Free Spins
Once you’ve filled up that free spins meter the spins will start on a slightly different set of reels; there are now 1024 ways to win rather than just 40 paylines so wins can be formed as long as there are matching symbols in adjacent columns from left to right.

Verdict
Peek-a-Boo is probably one of Microgaming’s better recent releases and it shows plenty of quality and creativity for players to enjoy. We like the guaranteed bonus feature (as long as you play for long enough) and it has an RTP of 96.00% – 97.00%.
