DC Comics Slots

dc comics slotsOnline slots fans will be well aware that you don’t need to look very far to find a superhero-themed game; developers have a fantastic canvas to work with and some of the Marvel slots out there rank as some of best slots around.  A succession of blockbuster movies in recent years has led to a flood of great games from Playtech and Cryptologic but in this article we’re introducing a different series of superhero-themed games based on characters from DC Comics.

A bit of history first – DC Comics began life as National Allied Publications way back in 1934 and five years prior to Marvel Comics.  From early on the company was referred to as ‘DC’ after it’s popular series called Detective Comics but the moniker didn’t become official until 1977.

Everyone knows the most famous DC Comics superheroes such as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman but further down the list are other famous names such as Green Lantern, Green Arrow and Aquaman.

So let’s get to the online slots and while the DC Comics games tend to get overshadowed by the Marvel slots and their huge progressive jackpots, there are some very good games out there. We’ve played DC Comics slots produced by both Cryptologic and Microgaming and they’ve all made a good impression on us. All superhero slots tend to have a multitude of bonus features and added extras and these are no exception.

Cryptologic for example have produced Batman and Wonder Woman and the former in particular is an atmospheric, well-designed game with some high quality graphics and plenty of bonus features.  Wonder Woman is a little more dated but for all those fans of the classic 1970s television show, this is a must.

Microgaming also have a Batman slot in their repertoire and it’s called The Dark Knight Rises; it’s a very impressive and graphically superb slot based on the 2012 movie of the same name. More recently Playtech and Bally Technologies have begun developing DC Comics games also.
