You know what it’s like – you’re browsing through the various games available at your online casino of choice but you can’t find exactly what you want. Then you stumble upon Tequila Poker, a bizarre but rather entertaining cross between five card poker and blackjack and your day may not be wasted after all. Keep reading to find out more about this slightly odd game from Playtech.
The design of Tequila Poker will be familiar to those who play online blackjack or similar games; as you can see from the screenshot above the betting positions are nearest to the player with the dealer on the far side. The cards are drawn in the centre of the table and the separate paytables are on either side.
How To Play Tequila Poker
The aim of Tequila Poker is to create a five card hand with either:
- A blackjack total of at least 46 (where each card is worth their face value)
- A poker hand with at least a pair of Aces
After placing your bet four cards will be dealt in the centre of the table; after viewing these cards you must decide to choose one of three options:
- Go for the High Tequila (a total of 46+)
- Go for Tequila Poker (to try and make a poker hand)
After you have made your selection two more cards will be dealt and the the software will automatically create the best hand according to the choice you made. If you folded at the previous stage then the round is over.
If you’ve won then you will be paid out according to the following chart.
|High Tequila||Tequila Poker|
|52||7x||♣||4 Of A Kind||15x|
|46-48||1x||♣||Three Of A Kind||3x|
|Pair Of Aces||1x|
Tequila Poker is an interesting game and played with the correct strategy returns a healthy RTP of 97.39%. It’s quite addictive and enjoyable and well worth checking out.
