Simplicity is the key if you’d like to check out this brand new online slot from Playtech. It’s called Purple Hot and it’s a throwback to a time when fruit was the only symbol necessary and any more than a minimal number paylines was considered extravagant. What it does have though is a progressive jackpot and a gamble feature.
Purple Hot plays out over five reels, three rows and just five paylines; we can’t quite fathom out the theme but there’s some brickwork at the bottom and several flaming cauldrons at the top in front of a a purple background.
Fruity symbols are the order of the day and these are all instantly familiar to slots players – cherries, bananas, watermelons, lemons, plums, oranges, sevens and apples. The red seven is the most valuable and five on a winning payline will pay 5000x your line stake or the progressive jackpot if you meet the correct criteria (more below). There are no wilds or scatters here, just the tasty fruit salad.
You can see the progressive jackpot total above the reels and this number is the one that applies to your bet level. There are four different jackpots triggered at different bet levels as follows:
- Stake – £2
- Stake – £5
- Stake – 10
- Stake – £25
This is your total bet, not your line stake but of course it still means your minimum stake will be £2 if you want a shot at the big bucks. You must also be playing with all five paylines active.
Five sevens on an active payline will win you the jackpot but if your stake is less than £2 the prize is 5000x your line stake.
You can choose to gamble your last win by clicking the ‘Double’ button below the reels. Your task is to pick a card higher then the dealer’s but if you get it wrong, you lose your winnings. The gamble limit is £2500.
This is a playable enough slot and the progressive jackpot is nice but the RTP is quite low – 94.33% when qualified for the jackpot or 92.33% when not qualified. Give it a go, but perhaps not for too long.
