We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – the addition of pirates to anything only makes it better and that’s a good rule when it comes to online slots. This game is called Pirate Plunder and it’s developed by Playtech who take us on a journey to the high seas in search of the gigantic progressive jackpot. Jackpot aside, there are no extra bonus features here but who cares when there are pirates on the loose? Read the full review below for more information.
Pirate Plunder is a five reel slot with three rows and up to fifteen paylines; as you can see from the screenshot above the design is fairly basic and the style somewhat cartoonish. The reels spin inside a wooden frame which is clearly part of the pirate ship.
There are five high value symbols including the pirate captain himself, his female companion, the skull and crossbones, the pirate ship in front of a full moon and a map on which ‘X’ marks the spot. A colourful Q, K and A represent the lower values.
The bonus symbol is a treasure chest overflowing with gold and jewels and it’s the key to the jackpot.
This is where the treasure chest comes in handy and you will need to land five on an active payline to claim the top prize. However the proportion of the prize you win depends on the size of your line stake as shown below:
- £0.10 – 2%
- £0.20 – 4%
- £0.30 – 6%
- £0.50 – 10%
- £0.75 – 15%
- £1.00 – 20%
- £1.50 – 30%
- £2.00 – 40%
- £3.00 -60%
- £4.00 – 80%
- £5.00 – 100%
Our advice is to make sure you are playing with the highest line stake possible if you want a shot at the biggest bucks. It’s also worth noting that the jackpot amount you can see above the reels is the amount you’ll win – it’s already calculated the proportion for your based on your stake.
Pirates Plunder is certainly a bit basic but it has two things going for it – pirates and a progressive jackpot. We’d recommend giving it a go if you can overlook the slightly low RTP of 93.00%
