We haven’t played many online slots from Yggdrasil Gaming but the few we have checked out have been of a very high quality. Fruitoids is another from this developer and it’s style is certainly reminiscent of releases from companies such as Net Entertainment but that’s not a bad thing. Like many Net Ent games there is no separate bonus feature as such but the base game has an in-built extra. Read on to find out more.
Fruitoids plays out over five reels and twenty five fixed paylines and it’s a beautifully designed nature-themed game. The backdrop to the reels is misty green forest setting and each of the symbols is strange looking plant or fruit. There are seven of them and we won’t secretive each one but there’s definitely an alien quality about each one, although I’me sure I’ve seen one or two in various Bangkok markets.
There are no wild, scatter or bonus symbols here but there is an extra feature as described below.

Freeze And Respin
This is where the fun starts and it occurs every time you land a winning combo; those fruit involved will remain in place and you’ll get a free respin. If you land more of the same fruit here anywhere in view (not just as part of the combo) then they will freeze and you’ll get another spin. This continues until no more matching symbols land at which point the win is evaluated.
You will also notice that there are multiplier values above the screen beginning with 2x above reel two and increasing to 5x above reel five. As each reel fills up with matching symbols, that multiplier becomes active and in our experience this is where the big wins occur.
Verdict
This is exactly the sort of slot we like; perhaps we’re lazy but all you need to do is set the Autoplay (it’s possible to set it to spin endlessly), sit back and watch the smooth, high quality action. It looks and sounds good and we recommend it.
