We’re taking a step back to a simpler style of online slot for this review; not everybody wants to play five reel slots with huge numbers of paylines and bonus features which constantly clog up the gems play. Fountain of Youth from Playtech is a nice, simple, three reel and three payline slot reminiscent of the classic Las Vegas-style one-armed bandits.
The Fountain of Youth is a centuries-old legend which tells the story of a spring which would restore the youth of anyone who drinks it’s waters or bathes in it. Different civilisations have had various stories revolving around this mystical phenomenon and now Playtech have designed a slot based on the story.
Fountain of Youth gives off a relaxing aura right from the moment you load up the game; the three reels are set against the backdrop of a lush forest environment. The fountain in this version is a literal fountain rather than a natural pool and brightly coloured butterflies flit around the scene.
The background music adds to the atmosphere and it’s well worth leaving the sound on to experience the gentle sounds.
How To Play
This game is so simple that you don’t even need to visit another screen to check out the payline information – it’s all there in the top right hand corner and there are only five different symbols.
From low value to high therefore we have a white flower, a frog, a blue bird, a yellow butterfly and finally the fountain itself.
The first thing to do when you start playing is to select your stake; you can bet on one, two or three paylines so the stake in between the ‘-‘ and ‘+’ in the bottom left hand corner should be multiplied by one, two or three depending on how many lines you’re selected. The ‘Bet One’ button selects the number of paylines.
Unusually for a three reel slot there’s also an Autoplay feature which always goes down well with us. Just click the small spanner in the top right hand corner and select Autoplay to rest your clicking finger and let the machine do all the work.
Verdict
Fans of the simpler slot will love this game; it’s provides some charming graphics and a relaxing environment and it’s a slot you won’t want to leave.
