It’s been a while since we reviewed any new games from Playtech and a new release from this company is always welcome; Fortune Hill is an online slot set squarely in the realm of magic and fantasy. The game kicks off with an extended intro movie which is well worth watching the first time you play – check it out and then dive into the action.
Fortune Hill is a five reel and twenty five payline slot with some stunning graphics and a range of bonus features. There’s a lovely landscape making up the backdrop to the reels with the main character’s little hut to the left in a green field watched over by a mountain and blue skies.
Aside from the standard playing card symbols we have a pocket watch, an ogre, a fairy and then our hero as the more valuable icons.
A ‘Free Games’ symbol and a mushroom activate two of the bonus features and there’s a pointy-hatted wizard as the wild.
Bonus Features
Fortune Wheel
You will have noticed the big water wheel to the right of the reels; it contains sixteen spaces with a number of them occupied by small bonuses. The wheel turns on each reel spin, potentially rewarding you with the following:
- Multipliers of 2x, 3x or 4x
- Wizard’s Hat – extra wilds, frozen reels and three respins
- Money Bag – a random cash prize of up to 6x your total bet
- Wand – a random cash prize or expanding wilds on reels two and four
Magic Mushrooms Bonus
Land the Magic Mushroom on reels one and five and you’ll be taken to a cliff edge on which are growing 12 mushrooms; just keep picking them for cash prizes until you find the one labelled ‘collect’.
Rainbow Free Spins
If you can land the Free Games symbol on reels one, three and five you will receive eight free spins. The Fortune Wheel is altered during this feature to contain positions which give the player 2, 3, 4 or 8 extra spins so if you’re lucky you will collect lots of spins.
