If you’ve arrived at this article hoping to read about some clever variant of Texas Hold’em then you may well be disappointed; however before you click the ‘back’ button just take a minute or two to learn how Texas Choose’Em works and you may find that it’s worth a go. It’s from the development studios of Random Logic Software and available to play only at 888 Casino.
Texas Choose’Em is not really a variant of Hold’em – the only link being that it involves the comparison of five card hands. The aim of this game is to predict which of the two five card hands on screen will contain the strongest hand.
How To Play Texas Choose’Em
Load up the game and you will be presented with two five card hands, one above the other. The top ones are face up and visible to the player while the lower ones are face down. Your task is simple – just pick which one will have the strongest hand when the lower cards are revealed. In the screenshot above the upper hand has a pair of nines and the odds for the winning hand (based on a £0.50) stake are displayed to the right.
So choose your stake and pick your hand; if you need a refresher of the hand rankings just click the ‘Poker Hands’ button on the left hand side.
If you win your bet your winnings will remain as the new stake and the lower hand will replace the upper hand, offering you the opportunity to the bet again with new face down cards and new odds. Alternatively you can collect your winnings and start again.
Verdict
Texas Choose’Em is a strangely addictive card game which gives players the chance to play the odds; poker novices will quickly become familiar with the hand rankings but beware – there’s a very low RTP of 90.00%.
