We’ve made no secret of the fact that we like Rival Gaming’s range of classic slots; they all seemed to be well-designed with nice big, clear reels and paytables and generally appropriate sound effects. In this review we will be checking out Surf Paradise, a surfing-themed online slot with a sunny outlook which might help keep you warm in those winter months.
Surf Paradise is a three reel, single payline slot with a lovely-looking background featuring a thatched beach shack in the foreground and some tasty looking surfing waves in the background, crashing onto a beach fringed with palm trees (we like a nice background image). There’s also a ginger-haired surf dude loitering by the game’s title.
The reels occupy the bottom right hand corner of the screen with the paytable attached to the wall of the beach shack on the left hand side.
The symbols involved here include a surfboard, single/double/triple bars, some palm trees and a big wave. Wins are possible here not just with three symbols but with the following combinations:
- Any one or two surfboards anywhere on the payline will pay 1x or 2x your stake.
- Any combination of three bars will win 5x your line stake.
- Any combination of three waves or palm trees will payout 60x your line stake.
To get started you will first need to select your stake size using the big coin underneath the reels; this gives a choice of £0.25 to £25.00. You can now double that by selecting two coins which will also double the prizes.
This is where it can pay to use two coins because the prize for landing three jackpot symbols (the wave) is more than twice the prize for one coin. All other prizes are merely doubled so there’s a percentage advantage in splashing out here.
Verdict
This is another well-designed classic slot from Rival Gaming and it’s well worth checking out. The background sound effects will make you wish you were on a sunny beach somewhere.
