It’s time to get back to basics once more as we check out this online slot machine from red Tiger Gaming with fruit at it’s centre; it’s called Mystery Reels and although there are no free spins it comes with two clever features and a progressive jackpot.
Mystery Reels is a five reel slot with three rows and twenty fixed paylines; those reels spin on a shiny representation of a physical machine with the jackpot totals ticking up slowly on the left hand side.
The symbols are all of a traditional nature and include fiery red sevens, golden bells, watermelons, bunches of grapes, plums, oranges, lemons and cherries.
There are no wilds in Mystery Reels but there are two bonus symbols – the golden apple and the bonus wheel – along with the jackpot icon.
Bonus Features
Mystery Symbol
This is triggered by landing one or more of the golden apple bonus symbols anywhere in view; each one will now display a number which determines how many other reel positions will be covered by the apple. There’s now a brief moment of tension as all those positions transform into matching symbols to provide with (hopefully) a big win.
Wheel Bonus
Trigger this by landing at least one or more of the bonus wheels anywhere in view (these can also be created via the Mystery Symbol round); each one will now award a spin of the wheel which may result in prizes of up to 5000x your stake. Fifteen reel positions means it’s possible, but unlikely, that you’ll earn fifteen bonus wheels in one go.
Progressive Jackpot

Verdict
Mystery Reels follows the design of other Red Tiger slots but each one is a little different and generally they add something a little creative to the output; both bonus features are clever, the progressive jackpot is always welcome and there’s an RTP of 96.24%.
