Alice In Wonderland is of course the iconic fantasy novel written by Lewis Carroll in 1865 and it’s a story full of characters and circumstances which lend themselves well to online slots machines. There is already a small genre of games with this theme and here we have Microgaming’s version – Mad Hatters.
Mad Hatters plays out over five reels and thirty paylines; three’s no background because the big, bright reels take up all the available space. The lower value symbols are all tea party ingredients such as cup cake, a cup of tea, various ice creams, a slice of cake and a teapot. The more valuable symbols are three cheerful-looking characters with impressive hats.
The red top hat is wild and the cuckoo clock and the blue rabbit are both scatter symbols which activate their respective bonus features.
- 3 rabbits – 10 free spins
- 4 rabbits – 25 free spins
- 5 rabbits – 50 free spins
That’s not all though and before the spins start you will be given the chance to change one of the characters into an extra wild for the duration of the feature. As an added extra, all wins during this phase will be doubled so it can prove quite profitable.
This is a regularly occurring bonus and it’s triggered by landing three, four or five of the cuckoo clock symbols anywhere on the reels. You will then get to pick one, two or three of the clocks respectively and each will reveal a coin value.
If the red top hat wild symbols lands on reel three it will expand to cover all positions, giving the player more opportunities for winning combos.
Mad Hatters Online Slot Playing Tips
If you’re going for the features here then you can play with as many or as few paylines as you wish and still have the same chance or triggering them. Ideal for low rollers who like the added extras.
This is a big, bold slot with some nicely designed symbols and some appropriately twinkly music to accompany your gameplay. A little dated now but worth checking out.
