If you’ve ever wondered about the contents of a leprechaun’s magic sack then we may just have the online slot machine for you – this Irish-themed game is called Larry the Leprechaun, it’s developed by Wazdan and its novel gameplay offers three different bonus features.
Larry the Leprechaun plays out on the 4×4 grid you can see above and the aim of the game is to land at least eight matching symbols anywhere in view – they don’t have to be adjacent in any way. The matrix areas on either side of the reels are connected with the bonus features.
The high value symbols are the gold coins, the silver coins, the leprechaun’s top hat, the mug of ale and the smoking pipe; J, Q, K and A make up the lower values. The leprechaun is wild and he’ll replace all other symbols to help create winning combinations.
Bonus Features
Symbol Locks
Every time a set of at least eight symbols lands on a particular spin they will lock in place for the next spin also with the hope of landing a few more and creating a bigger win. If there’s more than one set of symbols the player can pick which one to lock.
Leprechaun’s Bonus Spins
Every time a gold coin lands on the reels it will fill up the corresponding position on the upper matrix to the right of the reels; your task is to fill this matrix up and then the Bonus Spins will be triggered the next time at least five gold coins land on the reels.
You’ll now receive 16 Bonus Spins (equal to the number coins collected) and during this round any wild symbols will lock in place until the feature ends.
Free Spins
The free spins are triggered in the same way as the Bonus Spins so once that lower matrix is full of silver coins you’ll then need to land at least five silver coins in one spin to trigger the spins. During this round of 16 spins there are no coins or sacks in play.
Magic Sack Spins
Landing a sack anywhere on the reels will fill up one of matrix spots on the left hand side; when this is full and you land one more sack in view these 8 spins will begin. Each time a sack lands during this round, one of J, Q, K and A will become wild for the rest of the round.
