If you’re a video poker player and would like to try the game with an extra twist then Jacks Or Better from Net Entertainment may be worth checking out. In fact this variant is a well known version of video poker and the title gives the main difference away. Here you can win with a pair of Jacks or higher; in the regular version the lowest winning hand is three of a kind.
Load up the game and you will be faced with a fairly standard video poker setup; your five cards are displayed at the bottom of the screen, above the cards is the paytable in coin denomination and to your left is a chart showing what you’ve won on any particular round.
You can select to play with 1, 5, 10 or 25 hands and if you do these will appear in place of the paytable in the centre of the screen.
How To Play Jacks Or Better
The aim of the game is to form a hand containing at least a pair of Jacks or higher. You get one chance to hold selected cards and replace the others.
Click the round green button at bottom centre to get things started and receive your first five cards. Hold any you want to keep and then click the green button again to get the replacements. Any winning cards will be held automatically for your convenience.
If you’ve won – great; if you haven’t then just click the green button again to try again. You will also notice the ‘Gamble’ button and you can use this after any win to try and double that amount. You can do this a maximum of five times and collect at any time but a wrong guess means you lose it all.
This is a good-looking example of video poker and it’s interesting that the RTP here is higher than Net Ent’s Deuces Wild (review) video poker of 97.97%. Here it’s 98.40% at bet levels 1 – 4 and 99.56% at bet level 5.
