Sometimes there’s no harm in going back to basics and spending some quality time playing a classic, three reel slot. That’s what we’re checking out in this review and the subject is Irish Gold from Play N Go. There are alread a healthy number of online slots around with an Irish theme; leprechauns, pots of gold and four leaf clovers abound and this game is no different except that it does have a high quality, cartoonish quality that distinguishes it somewhat.
Irish Gold is a there reel and five payline game with some very simple but effective graphics; the reels themselves are separate from each other and each is framed with some a nice Celtic design. There is of course a rainbow in the background but there’s also a brought blue sky, fluffy clouds and lush green grass in the foreground.
The symbols are a combination of different coloured bars and a red-bearded leprechaun who is worth 50x your stake. There’s also a clover scatter symbol and a pot of gold wild which substitutes for all other symbols.
How It Works
When you first load up the game you are given several options regarding the number of paylines to play and the level of the bet.
The bet can be adjusted with the ‘coin value’ button and also with the ‘Coins’ button. You can then set the number of paylines to play between one and five. These combinations allow you to play with a wager of £0.10 per spin with one payline up to £25.00 for all five paylines.
When you’ve set your bet level and payline number just press ‘Spin’ or use the ‘Autoplay’ button to kick things off. Unless you really like dissecting the results of each spin we would always prefer the Autoplay option.
Verdict
Irish Gold may well only appeal to classic slots fans but it’s designed to a very high quality and it looks and sounds very good. Check it out.
