The Far East is once again the destination for online slots fans eager to check out this release from Nextgen Gaming; it’s called Cherry Blossoms and it’s focus is the natural flora of Japan rather than it’s cultural artefacts. It’s certainly very pretty check out our review below for more details.
Cherry Blossoms is a five reel slot with three rows and up to twenty paylines; it follows the basic design of many Nextgen slots and the background is made up of pink cherry blossom trees under a bright blue sky.
The high value symbols may be recognisable to those familiar with other oriental slots and include a temple, a bell, a paper lantern and an ornate fan. 9, 10, J, Q, K and A represent the lower values.
The geisha is the wild symbol and also the highest paying – worth 12500x your line stake for five on an active payline. The big cherry blossom flower is the scatter which activates the main feature.
There’s only one extra feature in this game and it’s some good old free spins. These are triggered by landing three or more of the cherry blossom flower scatter symbols anywhere in view. You will receive the following:
- Three scatters – 15 free spins
- Four scatters – 20 free spins
- Five scatters – 25 free spins
All wins from the free spins round will be tripled and any which include the geisha wild will be multiplied by 6x. More spins can be triggered by landing the required number of scatter symbols during this feature.
Any win can be gambled by clicking the ‘Gamble’ button below the reels; this gives players the opportunity to try and double or quadruple that amount by guessing the turn of a playing card. You can guess correctly up to five times but you’ll lose it all if you’re wrong.
It’s fair to say that there are plenty of better oriental-themed slots around (see our top five here) but it’s certainly quite pretty if looks are what you’re after. There’s an RTP of 95.37%.
