The addition of pirates to an online slot machine can only be a good thing so we’re pleased to bring you this review of Buccaneer’s Bay, a game developed by Side City Studios themed on the thievery which took place in the Caribbean some four hundred years ago – read on to find out more, me hearties!
Buccaneer”s Bay is a five reel slot with three rows and twenty five fixed paylines; there’s a pale blue rim to those reels which sit against a backdrop of palm-fringed shores and crystal clear waters – a scene which hides the endemic tropical diseases and short lifespans of the time.
All the symbols are related to the theme and include three pirates, the pirate ship, a map on which ‘X’ marks the spot, a telescope, a ship’s wheel, a compass and a skull with crossed swords.
The wild is an arrangement of cogs behind a large ‘Wild’ and it will substitute for all others to help form winning matches except for the treasure chest scatter symbol.
This is the only feature and it’s triggered by landing three or more of the treasure chest scatter symbols anywhere in view for which you will receive the following:
- Three chests – 10 free spins.
- Four chests – 15 free spins.
- Five chests – 20 free spins.
During this round all wins are subject to a 3x multiplier and more spins can be triggered by landing three scattered chests.
Wins can be gambled by clicking the hearts/clubs button to the right of the reels and you’ll have the chance to double or quadruple your win up to five times by correctly guessing the colour or suit respectively. Get it wrong and of course you’ll lose it all though.
Buccaneer’s Bay may not have state of the art graphics or complex features but it has pirates and that should be good enough for anyone; this game comes with an RTP of 95.04% and should be played with a tot of rum and perhaps a parrot on your shoulder.
