- but why not try one of these?
There was a time, many centuries ago when the Middle East was considered mystical and mysterious; these were the days of Sinbad, Aladdin and genies in lamps who would distribute wishes to accidental polishers. Rival Gaming’s Arabian Tales takes us back to that time to immerse us in a world of magic and gleaming stars so check out our review for more information.
Arabian Tales is a five reel slot with three rows and up to fifty paylines; it’s a good-looking, faintly cartoonish design and the backdrop to the transparent reels features a blue-domed building under a night sky packed with twinkling stars.
There’s a nicely-designed range of high value symbols including a one-eyed baddie, a girl with a snake, a magic carpet, a jewelled dagger, a book and a smiling turbaned chap. 9, 10, J, Q, K and A represent the lower values.
The wild is the magic lamp and it’s an expanding wild, meaning that it will cover all positions on a particular reel if it can form a winning combination; it will also multiply any wins by 2x. There are two scatter symbols – the tiger and then the genie which activates the main feature.
The genie is the key to the free spins and landing three or more of this scatter symbol anywhere in view will award the following:
- Three genies – 12 free spins
- Four genies – 25 free spins
- Five genies – 50 free spins
When the feature starts you will be taken to a cave which is opened by the traditional ‘Open Sesame’ command and then the spins will begin. Any wins formed here will have a 3x multiplier, the wild is still an expanding wild and it’s also possible to trigger more spins by landing three+ more genie scatters.
Arabian Tales is a playable addition to this particular genre and we were pleased to be able to trigger the free spin feature several times in our testing period. In fact we never dipped below our starting budget but of course that’s just our good luck. The RTP is a slightly disappointing 94.93%.
