Gourmet Ranch Riches is not quite an online slot and it’s not really an arcade game but it is a lot of fun; it’s a release from Wild Game Reserve which is the the in-house developer of the Odobo platform. If you’ve played Cash Cow Farm by Revolver Gaming then you will recognise the layout but the gameplay is completely original.
As you can see from the screenshot above, Gourmet Ranch Riches is played on a 5×5 grid s inside a white picket fence – this is where the crops grow and all the action takes place. Farm buildings occupy the background and there’s a well-ordered party of some sort going on in the bottom left hand corner.
The symbols are all crops, farm animals and other types of food but the game is split into levels through which players work their way; as you create combinations of three or more joined symbols they will gradually fill up the meters at the top of the screen. The 15+ matching symbols will offer the highest payout of 10000x. Completing the whole set unlocks the next level/recipe although there is no extra payout.
Gameplay/Bonus Features
Kick things off by pressing the arrow button in the bottom right hand corner and this will grow some crops animals in the starting ‘cross’ shape on the grid. If three or more symbols match horizontally or vertically it’s worth a prize and a free respin; this respin adds two more growing areas. If there are no further wins the growing area resets to the starting shape but if you do match more symbols then more areas will be added along with another respin.
If you can fill up all areas of the grid during this process the bonus feature is triggered. You will receive six ‘spins’ with all areas available which means plenty of wins and each match will result in another respin. Additionally each consecutive win on the same spin will increase the win multiplier up to a maximum of 10x.
If you can land three separate matches in one go you will receive three more spins.
Achievements
For those who like this sort of thing there are achievements to be gained such as matching symbols in certain shapes and collecting certain amounts of ingredients.
Verdict
Gourmet Ranch Riches is a brilliant game to play and it’s very simple to play once you’ve got to grips with the various on-screen options. It looks and sounds great and it’s compellingly original and addictive.
