A trip back to medieval time awaits those who choose to play 5 Knights; this online slot from Nextgen Gaming joins a number of others jostling for position in this genre. Weapons, armour and castles are generally the order of the day and that’s also the case here but this game does feature a ‘wild slider’ feature that we shall explain more below.
5 Knights is five reel slot with three rows and up to twenty five paylines; those reels are inset into the walls of a purple-turreted castle which itself is surrounded by grassy hills. A dark and brooding sky watches over the whole scene.
There are four theme-related high value symbols – a gauntlet, crossed weapons, the princess and the male protagonist. 9, 10, J, Q, K and A make up the lower values.
The shield is wild and will substitute for all other symbols except the scatter, which is represented by a view of the castle. The castle activates the main feature.
Slide A Wild
You will notice that above the reels is a small slider entitled ‘Slide A Wild’; you can use this to select a reel which will have enhanced ‘wild’ payouts. If you land a wild on that particular reel and it contributes to a winning combination, the payout will be multiplied in the following way:
- Reel One – 2x
- Reel Two – 3x
- Reel Three – 4x
- Reel Four – 5x
- Reel Five – 6x
The wild also appears stacked on your chosen reel, filling all positions. When this happens a knights will enter from the right and be beaten back by a hail of arrows.
Landing three or more of the castle scatter symbols anywhere in view will reward players with fifteen free spins.
During this round the Slide A Wild feature will remain active and all wins will be doubled. The spins can be re-triggered by landing three+ more scatter symbols.
5 Knights Online Slot Playing Tips
We’re inclined to say that it doesnt’ really matter where you place the slider, the RTP will remain the same. However it is a way of slightly altering the variance – you’ll get more smaller wins on reel one and fewer larger wins on reel five.
5 Knights is a playable enough game which might just sneak into our top five medieval chart. Nextgen don’t publish their RTPs which is a shame but this is worth a go nonetheless.
