There’s no shortage of superheroes to save the planet these days and that also means plenty of online slots based on these characters; this one’s called 4Squad, it’s developed by Red Tiger Gaming and it comes with cluster wins, a progressive jackpot and four features themed on our heroes.
4Squad plays out on the 7×5 grid you can see above and the aim is to create clusters of at least five matching symbols horizontally or vertically – those symbols involved will then disappear to make way for more falling from above and the winning process will then hopefully continue.
The four higher value symbols/heroes are Quake (green), Strike (blue), Burst (red) and Beam (yellow) and the golden fist; playing card symbols in similar superhero colours are the lower values. The glowing orb is wild and it will replace all standard symbols to help form winning combinations.
Bonus Features
Superhero Bonuses
Each of the superhero meters above the reels has eight segments and these are filled by landing clusters of heroes or low value symbols of a particular colour in one spin – manage that and the following features will be yours:
- Quake (green) – all low value symbols are removed and replaced by new symbols falling in from above.
- Strike (blue) – extra wilds are added to the reels in random positions.
- Burst (red) – random lines of symbols are turned into matching ones.
- Beam (yellow) – applies a multiplier of up 10x to the current win.
It’s also possible to trigger more than one superhero bonus at once and if you can fill all segments at the same time you’ll activate Superhero Mode in which you’ll get one free spin with all bonuses active and the low value symbols removed.
Progressive Jackpots
This is triggered from the base game by landing three of the jackpot symbols which will award either the Big Drop Jackpot or the Daily Drop/Hourly Drop prizes which must be won within those time limits.
Verdict
4Squad is exactly the sort of slot we like – cascading symbols, easily triggered features and a progressive jackpot; the only downside is a slightly low RTP of 93.65%.
