Perhaps we don’t pay enough attention to butterflies but they’re an integral part of our ecosystem; however they are rarely seen on online slot machines so 3 Butterflies is a welcome addition to our list of reviewed games. 3 Butterflies is a five reel slot with four rows and fifty fixed paylines; those reels are surrounded by small flowers and the whole edifice balances on a log in the middle of a large meadow.
The six high value symbols are related to the theme and include blue, yellow and purple butterflies, a ladybird, a wasp and a caterpillar; colourful playing card symbols represent the lower values.
The multicoloured butterfly is wild and will substitute for all others except rose and crystal butterfly bonus symbols.
Bonus Features
Flying Wilds
The wild symbol appears on reels one, two, three and four and each time it does it will expand to fill in four positions in a 2×2 shape. If these wilds overlap they will multiply their values up to a maximum of 6x.
Free Spins
The rose bonus symbols appears only on reels one, three and five and when it does you will be awarded seven free spins; there’s no extra multiplier for any wins here but the Flying Wilds will appear more often to help out with bigger wins. The spins can also be retriggered.
Flowers Mini-Game
Above the reels you will notice three coloured meters – these are filled up incrementally (three at a time) whenever a crystal butterfly lands on reels three, four or five. At the same time any non-winning spin will add a small amount (based on your bet) to the totals at the end of the meter. To the right of those totals there’s the maximum prize which can be won when each feature is triggered.
Each tim you reach the end of the meter you will receive one, two or three spins on the screen shown below depending on whether the yellow, blue or red filled up. Each extra spin/colour awards the chance of bigger prizes and multipliers.
