Electracade Ltd may just be one those games developers you’ve never heard of; they are a British company established as long ago as 2004 which gives them more than a decade of online slots-building experience and they’ve certainly put that time to good use.
The company is based in Surrey and the first thing to say is that Electracade is no longer an independent entity. In 2008, just four years after entering the industry, Orbis acquired the organisation for around £3m – Orbis became Openbet in 2010 meaning that Electracade now operates as a subsidiary of that company.
Although Electracade have spent a decade developing plenty of games for numerous online casinos, we haven’t come across that many where we play. We first encountered their software when playing the excellent Banzai online slot and that game demonstrated not only the ability of this company to develop to a high standard but also to use humour and creativity. The icing on the cake was to base it on an iconic UK television show.
It’s not just about slots though and Electracade are also known for their range of table games such as Blackjack and Roulette and we’ve recently also been checking out a version of Keno called Hi Tech Keno which does the business. There’s also a progressive jackpot network although the prizes don’t tend to match those from the bigger developers.
They seem to operate with a certain amount of autonomy within the Openbet setup and that’s to be applauded by all parties. They are regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and Alderney and that’s a solid mark of trust for any potential players.
