Farming may not seem like the obvious theme on which to base an online slot machine but that hasn’t stopped a number of developers using this subject and creating some great games; Bumper Crop is another to add to the list, it’s from Playson and it comes with a very imaginative bonus feature.
Bumper Crop is a five reel slot with three rows and twenty seven fixed paylines; the symbols spin in thin air but behind them we can see an agricultural scene including a barn, a farmhouse, trees, crops and the moustachioed farmer leaning on his fork.
Due to the nature of the gameplay there are just five standard symbols – 10, J, Q, K and A. knocked up from odd bits of wood.
There’s no wild symbol in the base game but there are five scatters and these are the farmer, the sun, a watering can, a bag of seeds and a spade.
Bonus Features
Wild Tree Bonus
Underneath each reel you will see a small logo which corresponds to one of the scatter symbols listed above; when that particular scatter lands on that reel a tree will being to grow. The logo will then change to another scatter which, when landing, will help the tree grow a bit more.
The logos always appear in the same order – spade, seeds, watering can, sun and farmer – and once a tree has reached full size the Free Spins are triggered.
All reels will trigger the wild tree and award three or four spins depending on how many pieces of fruit are on that tree; the exception is the centre reels which awards ten free spins.
During the free spins paylines will pay from right to left as well as left to right and if you can land the Super Gardener he will grow the tree one stage on all reels.
