Fresh from the creative minds at Net Entertainment is this very pretty sequel to a slot called Butterfly Staxx; it’s will be called Butterfly Staxx 2 and while certain aspects of this game are similar to its predecessor, others have changed and improved to offer players an even better gameplay experience.
Butterfly Staxx 2 is a five reel slot with four rows and forty fixed paylines; those reels spin within a delicate golden frame against a backdrop of flowers and mountains viewed through a stone arch.
The higher value symbols are the yellow butterfly and the red, purple and blue flowers; J, Q, K and A make up the lower values.
The glowing orange flower is wild and it will substitute for all other standard symbols to help form winning combos; the pink rose is the scatter symbol.
Bonus Features
Butterfly Respins
Landing a stack of butterflies to cover one reel will trigger the Butterfly Respins and that stack will move over to reel one; respins will now start and continue as long as new butterflies land in view. If reels one and two are full of butterflies a new reel set appears with reel one full of butterflies; if reels one, two and three of the first set or reels one and two of the second set are full of butterflies then a third set appears. When no new butterflies appear the wins are calculated.
Butterfly Spins/Butterfly Frenzy
Landing three of the pink rose scatter symbols on reels one, three and five will trigger this feature and prompt you to select one of the following bonuses:
- Butterfly Spins – similar to Butterfly Respins but this time only active or dormat cocoons appear on the reels; active cocoons change into butterflies to get things started.
- Butterfly Frenzy – this is a picking round in which players select butterflies to win prizes and work up to the fifth stage with wins of up to 125x the stake.
Verdict
Like the original, Butterfly Staxx 2 offers some enchanting graphics along with some cleverly designed (and potentially lucrative) bonus features; we particularly like the Butterfly Respins but it’s all good.
