Click on the Battle of Spins tab on the right hand side of the screen (or the little Battle of Slots symbol on the menu bar if you’re on the mobile site) and you’ll be taken to a screen similar to the one shown below.
Any online poker players out there will be familiar with this setup because this is how those poker players choose which tournament to enter – it’s a list of comps ordered by start time but also including information such as competition type, buy-in amount, prize pool and how many people have already entered.
What Videoslots have done is taken that concept and applied it to the world of online slots and here there are various different types of tournament to enter:
Freeroll
This is ideal for those lower rollers because, as the name suggests, it costs nothing to enter and yet you can still win cash or free spins. Below is the lobby for a recent freeroll we played with the relevant information displayed on the left hand side, the prize list in the centre and the highest scorers on the right hand side. The bet amount is set at €0.10 and players have 100 spins to earn the best point score (which correlates to your winnings). Prizes start at 100 free spins and if you could click ‘See More’ you’d see that in this freeroll they go all the way down to 439th position and 5 free spins.
Scheduled Battles
A normal tournament is one in which there’s an actual buy-in amount starting at €1.00 and also sometimes the opportunity to ‘re-buy’ your way back in to the game once your spins have finished. The prize pool is usually a guaranteed amount based on the buy-in fee so the larger the fee, the greater the prizes. If enough players register the prizes will increase with the winners receiving set percentages of the prize pool.
Sit & Go
Sit & Gos are multi-round competitions in which you’ll play against four other players with the winner earning a ticket to the next round; here another comp will take place and the winner will again progress. The final prize for the ultimate winner is definitely worth winning. Higher rollers can buy their way into the further rounds but it’s much more expensive.
As far as we know Videoslots is the only online casino to offer a service such as this so if this looks like your cup of tea then dive in a give it a go – play the freerolls to start with to get to grips with the system and then go from there!
