*Please note – Betsson Casino no longer accepts UK customers*
When reviewing online casinos we have no particular preference in terms of size, age or location and are always happy to give every venue a chance. Betsson Casino has a large customer base but it’s always managed to treat us in a more personal way than some of the more highly regarded casinos. You rarely see Betsson advertised at big sporting events and the like but they’ve built up a large user-ship through basic good service.
It’s owned by Betsson AB and is regulated by Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Commission; it might not be the oldest online casino out there but it can trace it’s roots back to 2002 so there’s plenty of accumulated experience within the company. Several months ago it was named the Casino Operator of the year 2012 at the eGaming Review Operator Awards in London.
Software
With the ubiquity of Playtech software out there it can come as something of a surprise that there are other software providers but it is of course true; Net Entertainment provides the services for much of the activities on the website and it’s fair to say that their slot machines are a thing of beauty. Other casinos may have more slots but it’s quality rather than quantity here. To get to the slots section, you’ll need to clink on the ‘games’ tab from the main menu.
It’s worth mentioning here that the Mega Fortune slot was recently responsible for a world record jackpot win of €11.7 million euros.
In addition to the usual services such as poker, baccarat, blackjack and roulette, Betsson offers a comprehensive and well-established sportsbook for those looking for something different.
Player Rewards
The rewards for a new player are simple and reasonably generous; sign up and you’ll receive 100% of your deposit as a bonus up to a value of £/€/$100. As an extra inducement for slots fans you’ll also get 50 free spins on the Starburst game and it you can’t win something with that many spins, you’re doing it wrong.
There’s a handy VIP club which you become a member of as soon as you start depositing money and the points you accrue can eventually be converted to cash rewards in your account.
User Experience
Betsson has a nice simple user interface which makes navigation around the site pretty easy; lower down the homepage things are a perhaps a little untidy but the important stuff is all near the top. The mobile site is interesting in that it’s very similar to the desktop site and that can be quite refreshing for those who get frustrated with the limitations of an app-style site. Each to his own, but we like the Betsson mobile site.
Customer Support
A casino won’t last long in this competitive online market without good customer service and Betsson is as efficient as any we’ve used; you’ll get a speedy response via email but if you need instant satisfaction, the live Chat service works well, as does a simple phone call.
Payment Options
Every payment option is covered here as it should be; you can deposit money via a number of methods including Visa and Mastercard, Maestro, NETELLER and Paysafecard. Internationl and domestic bank transfers are also available.
Wagering Requirements
Along with all other online casinos, Betsson require players to complete certain wagering requirements before withdrawing their bonuses or any winnings which are a result of the bonus.
- First Time Deposit Bonus – bonus x35 within 30 days
- General Deposit Bonus – bonus x35 within 5 days
- Giveaway Bonus – bonus x35 within 7 days
- Free Spins – winnings from free spins must be wagered 35x and within one day
“Don’t be put off by the lack of huge welcome bonuses here – the good stuff starts happening after you sign up. Betsson features plenty of games from smaller developers such as Play N Go – if you’re looking for something different, check it out.” – Rachel M, Clacton

Disclaimer: If you sign up to one of our recommended casinos we receive a small amount of commission – it helps with the costs of maintaining this site. Thank you!
