The Steel City sits on the south east tip of the Peak District and it’s geographically central location means that it receives it’s fair share of visitors from around the country. A large student population means there’s also a thriving nightlife which is complemented by several casinos dotted around the city centre.
Napoleon’s Casino
Napoleon’s Casinos can’t match Genting or Grosvenor for the number of locations nationwide but they are certainly comparable when it comes to the quality of the venue.
There are two locations in Sheffield, one in Ecclesall and one in Owlerton so you’re never too far away from one or the other. As with other UK casinos, the number of slot machines is limited by law but Owlerton has around twenty while Ecclesall has just nine. Both have up to date IGT games but Owlerton also has Novomatic Gaminator cabinets so you can pick from a number of video slots on one machine.
Blackjack, roulette and poker are also available in these plush surroundings and there’s a restaurant which is worth visiting even if you’re not gambling. Opening hours for the casino are 7pm – 5am Monday to Thursday and 7pm – 6am Friday and Saturday.

Genting Club Sheffield
Another city and another Genting casino to check out; this one is the Genting Club and it’s very centrally situated on St Paul’s Place, a few streets west of the railway station.
The full range of slots is here including multi-game cabinets from IGT and Novomatic meaning you can play games such as Book Of Ra and Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania. You can also play progressive jackpot games with IGT’s Fort Knox and Novomatic’s Power Link systems. £20,000 top prize is available with IGT.
Poker, blackjack and roulette are all available and there’s even a private room if you so desire. This is a big venue and there are three bars and a restaurant to keep you fed and watered. This casino opens 24/7 and there’s even some limited parking for visitors.

Grosvenor G Sheffield
The Grosvenor is situated just south of the railway station on Duchess Road and this is smart-looking place, inside and out. Once you’re inside you will find a setup similar to other Grosvenor venues but that’s no bad thing – WMS Gaming, IGT and Novomatic provide the slots software and there are some decent progressive jackpots available from those networks.
This is a 24 hour casino and you are also able to play poker, roulette and blackjack here (the regular poker tournaments are quite popular).
The bar and restaurant are popular and there are plenty of live music events if you want a break from the gambling.
