While some may claim that golf is a sport, it’s really more of a pastime and something that’s unlikely to keep you fit and healthy. You’ll probably get more exercise actually playing golf than playing an online slot based on this ancient game but it’s a close run thing. Here we present Hole In One, an Amaya Gaming release based on this interrupted stroll around the countryside.
Hole In One is a five reel and nine payline game with something of a comedy approach to golf. The main man appears in the the title above the reels, grinning with sparkling teeth as he swings his club.
The basic symbols are the playing card icons 10, J, Q, K and A but they replace the numbers on the flags; there are only two higher value symbols – a golf ball in the water and one in the sand.
The wild symbol is a ball on a tee about to be hit by a club, the bonus symbol is our chap with the shiny teeth and there are two scatters represented by two different golfers.
The scatters must also be on adjacent reels to win, not necessarily starting from reel one, which means they are not quite scatters as we would usually describe them.
Hole In One Game
This is not the most creative of bonus features but it is what it is – you trigger it by landing three or more of the golfer bonus symbols on adjacent reels and then you will see twelve overviews of holes displayed in the screen.
Just pick them one by one, collecting multipliers as you go until you find the ‘Collect’ hole, at which point the bonus ends. When you’re picking the holes, the multipliers are golf-related so that an eagle will mean a 3x multiplier and so forth.
This is a rather basic slot but it does contain some nice wildlife-related sound effects and it tells the story of golf at a truly amateur level. There is some entertainment to be had here, but not for too long. The RTP is 90.00% which is really quite low.
