It’s back to basics for this particular review and that’s because not all slots players prefer to spend their money on the five reel, feature-rich games which dominate the online casinos these days. There’s a significant minority who still prefer the simplicity of the classic, Las Vegas-style slots and Heavy Metal is one example – you put your money in, spin the reels and if the symbols match you win.
We’re not quite sure what Heavy Metal is based on; of course there’s the genre of rock music which is a prime candidate but we’re inclined to veer towards the iconic American magazine of the same title which features fantasy art as well as articles.
Back to the game in hand though and Heavy Metal is three reels slot with a three paylines; a green-haired girl is the main character in this story and she is also the most valuable symbol, worth up to 4000x your bet. Other symbols are 1x, 2x or 3x a silver bullet with ‘Bar’ inscribed on the side and a big seven.
When you first load up the game you will see the reels in the top left hand corner above the game’s logo and then there’s the payout details on the right. Betting options are at the bottom of the screen.
How It Works
You can’t change the number of paylines you play but you can chance the coin level of the game so to alter your bet level. Just choose your bet amount with the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ buttons and then select coin level one, two or three. Not only will the increase your bet but it will of course increase the potential winnings also. Now just click spin and away you go!
Verdict
Heavy Metal will certainly appeal to classic slots fans but that’s where it’s appeal probably ends; this is unashamedly a simple game which has no intention of messing things up with any added extras. If you like this sort of thing then give it a go.
