A trip to the woods awaits us now and not just any woods – this is a medieval forest and somewhere deep in the leafy darkness there’s a cave inhabited by by a dragon. This scaly monster guards a pile of treasure and that’s what you need to get your hands on. This game is called Dragon’s Treasure, it’s developed by Merkur Gaming and if includes a nifty free spins round – you can read all about it below.
Dragon’s Treasure is a five reel slot with three rows and just five paylines; the graphics are a little bit basic but the reels are gold-rimmed and set against a backdrop of grass and trees – there’s no dragon in sight at the moment. The sound effects are simple and not really allied to the theme.
There are four high value symbols comprising the the bearded knight, the clean-shaven chap, the treasure chest and the sword – these will all payout for at least two on a payline; lower values are represented by the usual 10, J, Q, K and A.
The dragon is the wild symbol and the scatter – he’ll substitute for all other symbols and also activate the main feature.
This round is triggered by landing three or more of the dragon wild/scatter symbols anywhere in view and you will receive a tasty 10 free spins to get your teeth into.
Before the spins start you will asked to select one of the base game symbols and if you land a winning combo including that symbol during the spins then all reel positions will transform into that icon, obviously resulting in a big win.
Each win can be gambled by pressing one of the two ‘Gamble’ buttons below the reels to trigger one of two different games:
- Left Button – starts a card game in which you need to predict whether the next card drawn is red or black to double your money.
- Right Button – starts a skill-based ladder climbing game in which you need to press the Gamble button to ascent the prizes on the rungs. It might look easy but it’s not.
With both versions a wrong move will lose all your winnings and the maximum win amount is 140 coins.
Dragon’s Treasure certainly does what it says on the tin but there are plenty of more sophisticated games around these days. The free spins round can be lucrative if the extra feature kicks in and there’s an RTP of 95.56&.
