There’s nothing wrong with taking a break from the spinning reels every so often but that doesn’t mean you actually have to give up the gaming; Bubble Craze is a brand new release from IGT which sits firmly in the arcade category but it offers a number of extra features which will be familiar to slots fans. It’s all explained below.

Bubble Craze looks like it’s piggybacking a little on the popularity of some of those smartphone puzzle games but of course this is better because there’s money to be won. As you can see from the screenshot above the action takes place on a hexagonal grid containing spaces for nineteen bubbles. Each spin sees these bubbles float upwards into position from the bottom of the screen.

The aim of Bubble Craze is to create groups of four or more similar coloured bubbles for a cash prize; these range from 10x your stake for four brown bubbles up to 10000x your stake for 19 silver bubbles.

Bonus Features

Transform Bubbles

You will notice that inside some of the bubbles there is a circular pattern of arrows; this symbol changes all those around to match itself. This will earn you a group of at least five, depending on where the symbols lands.

Multiplier Bubbles

Some bubbles contain a multiplier of either 2x or 5x and if you land a win containing one, that win will of course be multiplied by that amount. Only one multiplier can be active per win – the highest one.

Free Spins

Bubbles may also contain a colourful atom-like pattern; land three or more of these to trigger five free spins. Every spin is a winner and more Transform and Multiplier bubbles will be added to the reel set.

Verdict

Bubble Craze is a nice addition to the ranks of arcade machines we’ve reviewed; it’s a very simple concept but enhanced by the addition of several bonus features. The RTP is a little low at 92.65% – 96.20%.
