We like a faintly insulting stereotype as much as the next person and for that reason we are always pleased to check out an online slot such as Belissimo!. Belissimo! is a three reel slot with five paylines and it’s all set against a backdrop of a red and white chequered tablecloth of the type you might find in a cheap Italian cafe. The reels occupy the top left hand corner of the screen space with all the paytable information on the right hand side. Our grinning chef is doing the business underneath the reels.
There’s not a huge range of symbols here, in fact there are only five and they comprise single, double and triple bars, a seven in from of the oven and the smiling chef himself. The chef is the most valuable icon and worth 5000x your line bet if you can land him on payline number five – that’s the one which ones from bottom left to top right.
The chef symbol is also a wild which will substitute for all others to form a winning combo.
You can set your stake by first using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons below the reels for a range of between £0.25 – £5.00. Now you can choose to bet on up to five paylines which will of course multiply that original stake by up to 5x.
There is an incentive to playing with all paylines active and that’s because the biggest payout is out chef on payline number five; you can only activate payline five by first activating the other four.
Verdict
We’d have liked some traditional Italian sound effects but we’re happy to settle for the traditional casino noises which are supplied. This is an entertaining enough classic slot with an amusing main character and a decent top prize.
