We have reviewed many, many online slots and more are added on a daily basis; there’s something here for everyone whether you prefer complex, feature-rich five reel games or classic, Vegas-style three reel slots.  If gaming and puzzles are more your thing then check out the Arcade slots; poker, blackjack and roulette fans should visit the Table Games list.

Now if you’re new to the world of online gaming then some of those phrases in the above paragraph may not be instantly familiar. Below we have a brief guide to each category and explain how they differ from the others.

Five Reels

These are the most popular games available at online casinos and the obvious indicator that you’re playing one is that they have, surprise surprise, five reels full of symbols. What they also have is plenty of features and mini-games which are triggered by landing certain combinations of special symbols on the reels.

These mini-games will often involve free spins but may also require some user interaction to make them profitable. The newer the game is, the more creative and different the bonus games tend to be.

Three Reels

These are the older style and more basic games but still very popular with those who prefer their simplicity. At the most basic level you spin the reels and hope that the reels will line up on a single payline. Limited features and more complexity may be available on some games such as Microgaming’s UK-style machines.

Arcade Games

These games will be devoid of reels but will offer a different way to wager and to win money. They might be based on board games, casino games or have some other theme but they’re generally good fun and worth checking out.

Table Games

Table games are those which offer the player the chance to play casino games just as you would at a bricks and mortar venue. Games such as blackjack, roulette and poker are all available and they can offer a nice diversion from the spinning reels.
