Every online slot developer seems to be getting in on the World Cup action at the moment and Playtech are no exception. Football Carnival is a brand new release and this is most certainly a Brazilian-themed game to celebrate the imminent tournament. It’s colourful. musical and there’s an interesting bonus feature so read on to find out more.
Football Carnival is a five reel game with fifty fixed paylines and those reels are of course set against that stereotypical Brazilian backdrop. It’s a view of Rio de Janeiro from the Corcovado hill upon which sits the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer.
The symbols are an entertaining range of four players from various countries and they are all stacked in the base game but they only cover two positions on the reels. Also stacked are the famous statue and a pitch side view. Normal size symbols include the obligatory Brazilian girls and a Brazilian flag.
The wild symbol is a yellow and green ball and the scatter is the Football Carnival logo which activates the main feature.
There’s only one bonus feature in this game and it’s a good old free spins round. It’s triggered by landing three or more of the Football Carnival scatter symbols anywhere on the reels.
You will now receive ten free spins with an initial multiplier of 2x. With each two spins the multiplier increase by 1x which means that the final two spins are subject to a 6x multiplier and you can check out our sizeable win in the video above.
Additionally an extra wild will be present during the spins and it sits in the centre of the middle reel to help you out.
It’s not possible to trigger any more spins from within this feature.
Football Carnival Online Slot Playing Tips
The fixed paylines and lack of interactivity mean there’s not much to offer here but for the full footie atmosphere we would recommend keeping the sound on and enjoying the Samba beat.
It’s not the most creative of games but it’s fun to play and the free spins are pretty profitable if you can trigger them. Well worth checking out in the run up to the World Cup. If there’s one downside it’s a rather stingy RTP of 91.32%.
