Everyone’s familiar with the Greek character Cupid, the god of love, but not so many will be aware of Psyche, Cupid’s lover in the contemporary Latin novel Metamorphoses. It may seem like a lofty subject for an online slot but there’s nothing wrong with shoehorning some classical literature into your gaming. Cupid & Psyche is from Bally Technologies so read on to find out more.
Cupid & Psyche plays out over five reels, four rows and forty fixed paylines. Various columns and statures are just about visible in the background but all the action here takes place on the reels.
There are only three main base game symbols – a, harp, a representation of Cupid and the game’s logo. Lower values are made up of 9, 10, J, Q, K and A.
The dark-haired Psyche herself is the wild symbol and there’s a scatter which is represented by a red, white and black bullseye. The wild can appear stacked on the reels which helps out with wins.
You will need to land three or more of those bullseye scatter symbols anywhere on the reels to trigger this feature. You will receive the following:
- Three scatters – 12 free spins + 3x total stake
- Four scatters – 12 free spins + 10x total stake
- Five scatters – 12 free spins + 25x total stake
When the spins begin you will notice that above reels two to five are four spaces waiting to be filled. The red bullseye symbol fills these up when it lands during the spins starting with reel five. The number of triggering scatter symbols also contributes to this number so reel five will always have three spaces completed when you begin.
Each completed set means the reel below it will turn completely wild and lock into place for the remaining spins. Sixteen is the maximum you can collect which means everything except reel one is wild. Obviously this is where the big wins happen.
The biggest attraction here is the bonus feature and that’s where the money is to be won; it doesn’t seem to be too difficult to trigger which is a plus. The RTP is bit stingy at 93.91% and the music is a little irritating.
